Want to know how this information can affect your life?

Consulting gypsy cards with a professional is an incredible tool for those seeking guidance and self-knowledge, but have you ever wanted to understand the cards and do readings for others, or yourself?

Here, we explain the step-by-step process for you to play gypsy cards.

1 — Studies and Consecration

1.1 — Understand the meaning of the cards and how they interact with each other

Knowing about the meaning of the cards in the gypsy deck is the foundation for those who want to read the oracle. Therefore, it is very important that you give yourself the necessary time to learn about this before doing “real” readings.

Otherwise, you may interpret the cards incorrectly and convey a message that is not true. Of course, each person has their personal way of interpreting the cards, but the foundation needs to be the same for everyone.

A tip for studying is to create an imaginary situation and draw three cards about it. With this, you can practice the meaning of each card and try to understand how the connection between them creates the answer for that situation.

To connect one card with another, we use mirrors. The middle card is the main message of that response, and the side cards connect as mirrors, that is, the meanings of those two cards together generate a single message.

1.2 — Consecrate your gypsy deck

After learning the meaning of the cards, you can start playing gypsy cards and doing real situation readings, but before that, it is necessary to consecrate your deck.

This step is a way to energetically confirm that this deck is yours and make it connected to you. Before the consecration, it is important to clean the cards: placing them under a glass with water and coarse salt for a few hours is enough.

The most known technique to consecrate a deck is the four elements. It consists of placing on a table an incense (air), crystals (earth), a candle (fire), a glass of water (water), and, of course, the gypsy deck.

Having done that, you can create your own ritual, such as passing each card through the incense smoke and making your affirmations out loud. The most essential thing is to understand that the consecration is yours, so it can (and should) be done in a way that you identify with.

I, particularly, consecrated my deck in a religious ceremony, on the beach sand, next to a bonfire. When the ceremony was ending, I took my cards and brought them close to the sea, letting small splashes of salt water touch the cards. This was the most meaningful way for me - and you can do it in the way that touches your heart the most.

1.3 — Understand how to position the cards

There are many ways to position the drawn cards to play gypsy cards. Here are the two I use most often:

3 or 5 cards

When the consultant is in doubt about a question, there are options. For example: the person works in architecture but thinks they would be a great fashion designer. Usually, the question that arises is “will I continue in architecture or will I be a fashion designer?”. However, the cards do not ascertain the future, and this is up to the person to decide for themselves.

In these cases, I use the following technique: one drawing with the question: “what will be the energy of your life if you continue in architecture?”. And another drawing with the question “what will be the energy of your life if you study fashion design?”.

The ideal number is from three to five cards to answer each question, as with this quantity, we can reach accurate and objective answers, which help the consultant to make a more conscious decision.

9 cards — past, present, and future:

When the issue is something persistent in the consultant's life, they may not be able to see what to do about the situation, so it is important to help them see the issue as a whole. In this case, I use the nine-card technique.

For example: the consultant has a romantic relationship that has already gone through various breakups and reconciliations, which leaves the person anxious, not knowing how to deal. In this case, we draw nine cards, organized in three rows.

The first row talks about the past of the situation: what motivated the people to start this relationship? The second row represents the energy of the present: how are things now? And the third row shows future possibilities: what is likely to happen in this situation?

Seeing the situation “from above”, as a whole, they can have more awareness about this issue and what to do about it.

However, there are infinite ways to organize the cards on the table, and you will choose the ones that best match your way of reading the cards.

2 – Take care of your energy

On the day you are going to do the reading, it is recommended not to consume alcohol, drugs, and try to keep your mind calm. This way you will connect better with the cards at the time of reading.

3 — Plan the environment to play gypsy cards

Being in a quiet, silent, and energized place is essential. A consultation with the gypsy deck is more than receiving answers; it is a moment of reflection for the consultant about their questions.

In setting up the table, it is recommended to have the four elements. A glass of water so that the feelings of the consultant are directed to the water (and not to the reader). An incense representing air to purify dense energies, a candle representing fire to transmute challenging emotions, and crystals representing earth (choose your crystals according to the energy you want).

Playing music that stimulates the connection with the cards makes all the difference. You can set up the environment in a way that makes you feel comfortable and at peace.

If the consultation is online, it is interesting to write on a paper the full name, date of birth, and address where the consultant is at the moment, and leave this paper on the table. This way, the energy of the person is more present in the consultation.

4 – The beginning: talk about the consultant's questions

When the session starts, the first step is to elaborate on the issues that will be discussed. Some consultants already have a “ready” question, others still don't know how to formulate the idea. Regardless of the situation, you need to listen to decide which technique to use (like those in item 1.3) and thus guide the consultant on how the consultation will be conducted.

5 – Shuffle and draw the cards

After you and the consultant have decided what the first question will be, it's time to shuffle. Whether the consultation is in person or online, ask the person to close their eyes and think about the question.

You can guide their thoughts, for example: the question is “what will be the energy of your life if you continue in a relationship with your boyfriend?”. In this case, while you shuffle, tell the person (with closed eyes) to imagine what moments are like together with the boyfriend, how his voice and scent are, his way of dressing, the subjects you talk about.

While the person visualizes all this, you will be shuffling the cards and placing them on the table. Thereafter, just ask the person to open their eyes and draw the number of cards needed for the technique you will use. If it is an online consultation, you draw the cards yourself.

6 — Read the meaning of the cards

Now, yes, you will actually read the cards. And after all the preparation of the above steps, this part becomes very simple!

7 – Finish the gypsy deck reading

During the consultation, you and the consultant continue talking, shuffling, drawing, and reading the cards until there are no more questions to ask, or the established time has ended.

To finish, just pour out the water that was on the table, visualizing all the feelings involved from the consultant going away. Wash your hands with running water, thank and ask for protection from your guides, and that's it! Reading finished. Did you like learning more about how to play gypsy cards?
